Joshua John Ward, a river boat captain, sought a comfortable way to sleep during sultry summers. What sets our hammocks apart? It starts with DuraCord, our proprietary solution-dyed synthetic blend rope that combines the softness of cotton with the durability of polyester. This all-weather rope is resistant to rot, mold, and mildew, and is the densest on the market, resulting in less stretching and increased support.
The oak spreader bars, repeatedly hand-dipped in honey-gold marine-grade varnish, are naturally resistant to rot and insect infestation, blending strength and handsome appearance. Our double-latch weave technique eliminates the need for knots, using 15% more rope than our competitors for a sturdier, more supportive hammock bed.
To ensure long-lasting durability, we plate all our hanging hardware with zinc, protecting against rust. Our one-piece ring-knot and chain, a product of years of development, permanently attaches the chain to the O-ring, making it impossible to lose.
